Part 10: The Priest You Can Count On

1. The Imperfection of the Levetical Priesthood (vv. 11-19)
   1. The Greek here—εἰ μὲν οὖν τελείωσις διὰ τῆς Λευιτικῆς ἱερωσύνης ἦν—is a first-class condition, assuming it’s possible just to prove it’s not.
   2. Indestructible life - unending, unbreakable.
2. The Superiority of Christ’s Eternal Priesthood (vv 20-25)
   1. The shift from past actions like “have been” to perfect (completed with ongoing results like “Lives forever” underscores Christ’s finished work and eternal priesthood.
   2. Because we need a permanent mediator to save us fully, Christ’s eternal priesthood, confirmed by God’s oath, provides complete and unending salvation.
3. The Perfection of Christ’s Priestly Work (vv. 26-28)

1. Stop trusting your shaky priests.
2. Take every thought captive making it obedient to Christ.
3. Trust Jesus, rest in Jesus.
4. Jesus has you finally, fully, and forever.
