Two Paths

1. Be born again through the true Word, the Good News. James 1:18, 1 Pet. 1:23-25
2. Recognize God’s purpose in problems. James 1:2-4
   1. Rejoice in tests
   2. Because it causes your endurance to grow
   3. That makes you perfect and complete, needing nothing.
3. Ask for wisdom. James 1:5
   1. God gives it generously
   2. He won’t find fault with you
4. Get God’s perspective on managing wealth. James 1:9-10
   1. If resources are tight, recognize God is honoring you and worship Him.
   2. If you have wealth, beware: God gives it for you to give generously and enjoy, but NOT worship.1 Tim. 6:17-19, 1 John 5:21, Luke 12:21
5. The result of this path is the Crown of ETERNAL LIFE! James 1:12

1. Live with divided loyalties; double-minded. James 1:6-8
   1. Faith constantly wavering between God and worldly loves. Joshua 24:14-28
   2. Characterized by instability in all you do.
2. Find all your fulfillment and hope in material, temporary stuff. James 1:11; 2:6-8; 5:1-6
3. Pursue your own evil desires. James 1:14-15
   1. You are dragged away by your own evil desires and enticed. Look for an exit! 1 Cor. 10:13
   2. That desire gives birth to a sinful action. LOOK FOR AN EXIT! 1 John 1:9, James 5:16, 19-20
   3. When sin is full-grown, it gives birth to death. At this point, it’s too late. Rom. 6:23
4. The result of this path is DEATH, and the loss of all you’ve loved and pursued. James 1:15

NEXT SUNDAY: Next Sunday, WATCH! A message on what to expect biblically as we move towards Jesus’ second coming. With all the confusion and conflict in the world, it is good to pause and reflect on what God’s Word says we can expect, to be prepared and find courage and comfort. See you Sunday!
