APPLICATION: Genuine spiritual hunger requires you to move past
what blocks you.
2. Challenge the norms. Lk 19:7-10
a. For those receiving grace: Deeds flow from the
encounter, not precede it.
APPLICATION: stop waiting until you’re “good enough” to draw
near to Christ. Your moral reformation doesn’t precede your
relationship with Him, it follows it.
b. For those extending grace: Challenge social
boundaries to reach the lost.
APPLICATION: In your workplace, church, and community, refuse
the boundaries that keep the marginalized at arm’s length.
3. Put what Jesus entrusts to you to work. Lk 19:11-14
APPLICATION: Stop thinking of your business as separate from
your discipleship. Your mina (your job, your platform, your daily
opportunity) is Christ’s capital entrusted to your care.
4. Recognize that your faithfulness now results in greater reward
and responsibility later. Lk 19:15-19
APPLICATION: Faithful stewardship of your business today, in how
you treat employees & co-workers, practice integrity, and deploy
profits, determines the authority and responsibility Christ will entrust
to you in eternity.
5. Guard against apathy. Lk 19:20-27
APPLICATION: Don’t let fear of failure become your excuse for
apathy.
