Part 2: Prepare The Way

1. God begins His work in real time and real places. Luke 3:1-2
   1. God’s redemptive plan advances regardless of human power.
   2. God’s timing is aimed at introducing His Son.
2. Repentance is the required response.  Luke 3:3-9
   1. Repentance recognizes real sin and real need.
   2. Repentance clears space for Jesus to be received.
3. Repentance produces practical fruit. Luke 3:10-14
   1. Genuine repentance changes life, not just beliefs.
   2. Fruit confirms need—but does not provide atonement.
4. Jesus is revealed as the fulfillment of repentance. Luke 3:15-22
   1. Jesus hears what He brings to us:
      1. I love you: Loved
      2. You belong: Identity
      3. I’m proud of you: Accepted
   2. Jesus provides a resting place for repentance.
