Part 3: Abundant Life in the Desert

1. Bread from heaven:
   1. Manna: Moses Exodus 16
      1. God provided physical food as a gift, but the people died. Ex. 16:4
      2. They had to gather it daily according to God’s plan. Ex. 16: 20, 27
   2. Bread of Life: Jesus
      1. Jesus provides food that endures to eternal life. Jn 6:27
      2. The work of God is this: To believe        John 6:28-29
      3. Eat this food daily: The Word. Jn 1:1-4,     Mt. 4:4, Jn 6:68
2. The Rock:
   1. The desert Rock. Exodus 17:1-7
      1. The people grumbled. Ex. 17:1-4
      2. God stands on the rock and is struck for the failure of the people to trust Him. Exodus 17:6a
      3. Water comes from the rock providing life sustenance for the people. Ex. 17:6b
   2. Jesus, the Rock. 1 Corinthians 10:1-6
      1. We sin. Romans 3:23
      2. He was struck for our sin in our place. Romans 6:23, 1 Pet. 2:24
      3. We receive living water, the Holy Spirit, welling up to eternal life. Jn 4:10,14; 7:37-39

1. Truly Recognize that your Life comes from abiding in Jesus. Jn 15
2. Practically, realize that your daily bread is eating The Word. Joshua 1:8
3. Listen to the Holy Spirit, living in you and don’t quench Him. 1 Thes. 5:19
